Keith Negley – NYT OpEd

coke

Got the call (email?) from the brilliant Matt Dorfman on monday to do yesterday’s OpEd piece. It’s about the NAACP’s opposition to the NYC/Bloomberg soda ban and why it’s as much about race as it is about sugar, and in a larger context, about the complicated history of African Americans and Coca-cola. Working for the NYT’s and the OpEd specifically has turned into one of the reasons I do this job, such rich topics and excellent Art Direction, and the challenge of creating something potent in such a short amount of time is a lot of fun. As always I was excited to get an idea that utilized the copy in some way. Find the full story here.
