For the last three years, I’ve worked in a very painterly way when approaching my illustrations. About a year ago I had the opportunity to work in a less painterly and just using flat colors, limited palette and textures on an assignment. More recently I started to expand on this visual vocabulary and started to do assignments in this new way of working. Some pieces I have to wait to share until they are published of course.

This piece is for Baltimore City Paper for a story about a wine snob. I really wanted to turn the doucheyness up to eleven with this character I drew. Many thanks to Joe!
