These charming gents were drawn with a slightly retro twist for Seattle Met’s new issue celebrating the 50th anniversary of The World’s Fair of 1962.
I took some inspiration from portrait illustration of the 1950s that I came across in a great book, Masters of American Illustration by Fred Taraba. If you’re an illustrator, I highly recommend it. There are 41 illustrators covered in the book and includes information about their process.
You can check out some fantastic covers and interior spreads from this issue of Seattle Met on the design team’s Flickr account.
