One of my favorite assignments I got in 2011 was a portrait of Red Hot Chili Peppers for the record review of their new album for Las Vegas Weekly. “You are free to interpret them any way you like,” said the art director, so I gave 3 different color options and would of been thrilled to finish any of these versions. The art director chose the phoenix/rebirth idea. It was the RHCP’s first album in 5 years and it’s first with a new guitarist, so the rebirth idea definitely fit. Thanks to Ryan for the assignment!
